Emergency Contraception

A private consultation is carried out by one of our pharmacists and the emergency contraceptive pill provided as appropriate.

Cost: $35 for patients >25, FREE for patients <25

Oral Contraceptive Resupply

If you are taking an oral contraceptive prescribed by your GP and need your supply renewed, you can now get this done at the pharmacy without needing to obtain a further prescription. Simply speak to one of our pharmacists who will be able to assist you.

At Unichem Leamington Pharmacy we want to see healthy communities as well as individuals. That’s why we provide vaccinations for the following conditions with no appointment necessary:

Seasonal Influenza Vaccination

Protects against the influenza virus during the winter months.

Cost: FREE for patients >65, $38 for patients <65

Boostrix Vaccine

Provides cover for Tetanus, Diptheria and Whooping Cough

Cost: FREE for pregnant women at the 2nd and 3rd trimester of pregnancy, $65 for all other patients

Shingles Vaccine (Zostavax)

Reduces the risk of developing shingles – Indicated for patients >50 only.

Cost: $225 for patients >50

Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccine (MMR)

Protects against measles, mumps, and rubella. Although these diseases can be mild in many people, they can be serious for others and are highly transmissible. With travel opening up both to and from New Zealand it is increasingly important to ensure you and your loved ones are protected against these diseases. Full protection requires two doses administered at least 4 weeks apart.

We offer a FREE vaccination service for patients 13 and over who have not previously received 2 doses of the MMR vaccine.

You’ve finally decided to kick the smoking habit – but where to from here? At Unichem Leamington Pharmacy we can provide you with subsidised Nicotine Replacement therapy and cessation advice with no appointment necessary. We will also follow up with you after a month to provide support to ensure you reach your goal of quitting. Feel free to drop in and make the quit smoking intention a reality.

For patients being commenced on an SSRI antidepressant such as Fluoxetine (Fluox), Paroxetine (Loxamine), Sertraline, Citalopram, or Escitalopram one of our pharmacists is able to provide comprehensive information and lifestyle advice.

Anticoagulant Counselling Service
(for patients taking Warfarin or Dabigatran (Pradaxa))

For patients being commenced on, or currently taking Warfarin or Dabigatran, our pharmacists are able to provide a comprehensive counselling service relating to these medicines. This involves medicines information, risks, dietary advice, and monitoring requirements.

Methotrexate Counselling Service
(for patients taking Methotrexate)

For patients being commenced on, or currently taking Methotrexate our pharmacists are able to provide a comprehensive counselling service providing all the necessary information relating to dosing, risks and monitoring requirements.
